With over nine years of experience in education, I am passionate about helping students improve their reading skills and overcome learning challenges. As a reading interventionist at Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS), I use evidence-based programs such as Reading Readiness and Orton Gillingham Plus to provide individualized and differentiated instruction to students in grades K-5. I also leverage my curriculum and technology skills to create engaging and interactive lessons that meet the diverse needs and interests of my students. In addition, I am working towards a master's degree in clinical counseling, which enables me to support the social and emotional well-being of my students and foster a positive and safe learning environment. Prior to this role, I worked as a special education teacher and an elementary school teacher at FCPS, where I gained valuable experience in collaborating with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders to ensure the academic success and growth of my students. My mission is to empower my students to become confident and lifelong learners, and make learning engaging and fun even when the subject matter is difficult for students. I am always eager to learn new strategies and tools to enhance my practice and professional development.
