The Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) Design Alliance (TMDA) was formed as a result of Auckland Council signing an Urban Design Alliance MOU with Los Angeles and Guangzhou – the GALA (Guangzhou Auckland Los Angeles) MOU (signed 16 May 2016).Liaison with the TMDA Board (representatives from 11 different design and tertiary institutes, including Auckland Council) the Board Chairman was Auckland Design Champion Ludo Campbell-Reid. Duties included board liaison, meeting preparation and attendance, attending to outcomes which included drafting TMDA's terms of reference. All incidental responsibilities associated with managing a Board and its organisation.Liaison with the Guangzhou Urban Planning and Design Survey Research Institute and the Los Angeles Business Council both signatories to the TMDA GALA MOU. Ensuring Auckland’s entry within the tripartite section of the Los Angeles Business Council 2017 47th Annual Architectural Awards including facilitating and attending stakeholder meetings and the Awards in LA.
