My passion is inspiring young people to find their unique career path. I have a BA (Honours) degree in Psychology (UPE) and a Higher Diploma of Education (UCT). I have taught English and Life Orientation in top Cape Town high schools over the past 25 years. In 2013, I registered with the HPCSA as an independent psychometrist and have offered career counselling to hundreds of high school students and young adults since then. I enjoy assisting Grade 9s with their subject choices as well as Grades 11s and 12s with their career choices. I am the author of the "Optimyze My Life Study Skills Workshop", a 5-session online study skills program for Grade 7 to 12 students. This workshop provides high schoolers with hands-on skills to develop their academic potential. Some areas of focus include daily planning; time management; concentration; summarizing and memorizing skills and coping with examination anxiety.In my work as a career counsellor, the need for a practical Gap Year Guide became evident as I engaged with young adults and parents who were curious about the benefits of a Gap Year but felt ill-equipped to embark on the journey. I am the author of "The Good Gap Year Guide", written to assist parents, mentors and young people choosing to take a structured Gap Year. I also enjoys mentoring students who choose to take a Gap Year.
