I assist fifth to eighth grade students in the classroom. I provide help with daily work, homework and organization.

I began working with first, second, third, and fourth graders. The program was after school, and my job was to help the kids achieve their goals and improve their academic skills, along with build a relationship with them. In 2014 I switched from working with those kids to working with fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth graders. My job was the same for them, along with helping the eighth graders prepare for moving on to the high school.

As a direct support professional my position included, but was not limited to, tasks such as medication administration, filing paperwork, creating a safe space for conversation, and providing guidance to individuals.
