Melanie Calhoun, APC, PMH-C, NCC™, is a mental health therapist at Push Thru Therapy in Atlanta, GA. There are so many challenges unique to women on the journey to and through motherhood. Melanie hopes to help women develop the habits and skills to thrive while navigating postpartum depression and anxiety, fertility challenges, pregnancy or infant loss, or how motherhood affects our relationships, families, and careers.Before becoming a counselor, Melanie worked as a Research Assistant in the Relationships and Social Cognition Lab at the University of California, Berkeley Psychology Department. Her interest in racism and bias research began while she was a marketing executive for over fifteen years. Melanie is committed to her community and, through her leadership, has made a significant impact on women's and children's issues. She has held various positions in the Junior League, Buckhead Atlanta Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and served on the Executive Board of the San Jose Alumnae Chapter and East Point College Park Chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is currently the Board Chair of the Atlanta Birth Center.Melanie earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Florida A&M University. She currently resides in Atlanta with her husband, son, and daughter. She is an avid reader and loves cooking.
