It is an honor and a privilege to walk with someone in their time of need. Become a mental health clinician was an easy choice after 5 years in the public sector working with library services. Library services taught me the value of community, research and the power of information. I wanted to help people on a more fundamental level and decided to get pursue a career as a therapist. I am a recent graduate with my Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development. My practicum and internship experience was with a partnership between a LGBTQIA+ non-profit and private practice. This low cost counseling program gave me 700 hours of diverse experience with different populations. It was rewarding to grow and learn as well as provided a much needed service during the pandemic. After completing my degree, I obtained my LPCC and have gained experience in private practice and community settings.Areas of interest for me are providing culturally competent care, counseling clients who are neurodivergent and the role of trauma on the mind body connection. Areas of study have been DBT, SET and IFS. My core modalities would be existential - humanistic with aspects of Gestalt as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
