We have developed the World's 1st Digital Playground for kids aged 6-11. Magical park is our 2nd product (Sharks in the Park was our 1st), which councils around the world can subscribe to for a low fee. Magical Park turns an urban park into a magical wonderland filled with fantasy creatures. As a result a "boring" park becomes exciting and adventurous! Kids have to complete missions in our games which get them to run around on average 1.45km in a safe park environment. Once they have played our game, they tend to go back to normal kids activities like climbing a tree, riding there bike or scooter and kicking a ball around. Most people will never have the experience of going diving in an ocean that is busy with life and take the seafood they eat for granted without a 2nd thought where it came from, how it was caught and what consequences it has for our oceans. Ian Mellsop from Marinescape and I are on a mission to create a new underwater educational experience that will get people thinking about actions they can take to protect our ocean and marine life and appeciate what we have left. The KIWA Underwater Observatory will be a groundbreaking new experience floating in the Wellington Harbour and while we still have a bit of paperwork to master, it's all looking very positive with a lot of local Wellington support. After being Assistant Manager of a Post Production house in Ireland I decided to go back to my original profession of being a VFX Flame editor. 2 years into my role in New Zealand I asked to learn and work on a new system called "Fire" or now "Smoke" doing Online Editing on "Legend of the Seeker", "Power Rangers", "Spartacus" and many other TV series.

This was my first experience in a manager role and I got thrown in the deep end with no proper management education and leadership experience. Looking back there is a lot I would certainly be doing different now, however I must say I wasn't afraid of going out there and getting the sales done, connecting and networking with clients and managing and producing projects. It was a fabulous growth experience and one I am very grateful for. During the time I did Sales courses and studied Digital Media technologies. I learned how to create websites and write HTML as well as use Dreamweaver. Sometimes I would do small Opening Title animations on Flame but predominately my job was to look after staff and clients and the smooth operation of the company.

Working at HIPPO TV was one of my best working experiences! I learned so much during my time there in technical skills as well as personal growth. While I was the only Flame/VFX operator there, the projects were very diverse and I had a lot of creative freedom. I recently saw that a lot of my work is still to this day on their showreel.
