Spearheaded the introduction of the In-Store Dietitian program in Edmonton. I built my network of community organisations and health professionals from the ground up. As in-store dietitians are relatively new to Alberta, I engaged with customers, store colleagues and the community to establish the role as a credible and reliable source of evidence-based nutrition information in store. I became the "Wellness Champion" in the store by engaging customers, staff and management in all the wellness programs in the stores such as wellness challenges, classes, and promoting the Guiding Stars program. Some of my responsibilities included: - Conducting nutrition-focused grocery store tours while identifying healthy choices and how to read nutrition labels for a variety of health conditions and concerns. - Delivering educational classes and food demonstrations.- Partnering with store departments/services to promote programs and help them reach sales goals- Increased customer loyalty and influenced healthier basket size and choices- Conducted community outreach to promote services to the community and health care sector- Provided personalized one-on-one counseling for customers for a variety of health conditions
