We are stronger than we think most of the time.I have been the keynote speaker for various events including events with the following organizations: Women Lead Change, Iowa BIG, UnityPoint Health, and KWQC TV6 with several events scheduled for Spring and Summer 2020. I've also been a guest lecturer in a college setting, and I've assisted DHS in Los Angeles area briefings regarding the Secret Service research and involvement in the Safe School Initiative.I authored my memoir (released 2019) entitled "Agent Innocent: How the Secret Service Changed My Life" and "Advance Work: A Personal Protection Assignment 7-Day Workbook" I write the "Finding Security" blog for Psychology Today, I have had articles published in various print and digital media outlets including The Kindred Voice, HerStry Blog, Whilst Magazine, etc.I have a fitness background and currently hold a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA CSCS) certification & completed B.S. and M.S degrees in Kinesiology. I am a founding swim coach for a startup called Zygo, and I own Training by Mel, a private training company in the Midwest. My fitness experience ranges from Secret Service PT Coordinator, Secret Service Rescue Swimmer, collegiate swimmer, Orangetheory Fitness Coach, Krav Maga practitioner (Israeli martial arts), and I've completed multiple marathons, half-marathons, ultra marathons, Spartan/obstacle races, open water races, and triathlons.
