PPA Revenue and ISO settlements and accounting for NextEra Energy Resources asset PPA's and NextEra Energy Marketing activities.

Manage activities related to NextEra Energy Resources ("NEER") and Florida Power & Light's ("FPL") Power Purchase Agreement ("PPA") settlements/billing and reporting as well as the recording and reporting of production tax credits (“PTC”) for NEER’s renewable portfolioDevelop the strategic vision for the information technology systems needed to support PPA business as well as manage, assist with design, and implement identified system and automation projectsManage month end close processes including monthly variance review and reporting

Manage activities necessary to ensure accurate preparation of monthly physical power and renewable energy credits (REC’s) accounting close and settlement transactions for multiple projects and activities including asset based transactions, proprietary trading and full requirement activities in the PJM and SPP markets.Oversee and lead process improvement, system implementation and automation projects. Maintain and update Sarbanes Oxley power / REC settlements and billing documentation. Coordinate internal and external audits. Interact with Asset Management and trade floor to review monthly power / REC estimates and explain results.

Manage daily activities of the Construction Accounting Department including a staff of 4 accountants and 2 accounting technicians responsible for the accounting for wind and/or solar energy projects in early-stage & advanced-stage of development and projects under construction. Oversee the monthly close process, SOx compliance, Budgeting, GAAP compliance, research, reporting and analysis for all responsible projects/companies.Special assignments: Convertible Investment Tax Credit audits for various renewable energy projects under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Temporary assignment at Gexa Energy (subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources) in Houston, Texas managing accounting functions while a new CFO and Controller were identified/hired

•Regulatory reporting for domestic and international physical power transactions including FERC, DOE, PUCT, and NEB•Prepare monthly balance sheet, cash flow statement, A/R gross margin analysis by business line; and monthly tax provisions

•Compute, Settle, and reconcile energy transactions in the PJM Market; including physical & financial power purchases/sales related to power generation, load serving, options and other energy management services•Contract review, A/R-A/P analysis, cash forecasting, track and reconcile REC’sSpecial Projects: train new staff, process improvements for month-end close, various automation projects related to new systems.

•Account for domestic and international development projects and energy projects under construction including: monthly accruals, weekly cash forecast, monthly tax provisions, analyzing qualified expenditures for capitalized interest, balance sheet review/variance explanations, fixed asset place-in-service•Issue monthly Capitalized Development Report and MOPR slide•Track and record land lease amortization for early-stage projects•Review and summarize turbine & solar equipment contracts•Provide accounting support to Engineering & Construction, Development, Project Accounting & Business Management departmentsSpecial projects: Create/maintain Share Point website for construction accounting, created new Capitalized Development Costs report, CITC audits, General Accounting Employee Engagement Ambassador

•Maintain inventory accounting for 7 wholesale/retail companies including purchases, returns, reserves, warranties, in-transit•Coordinate and facilitate physical inventories for 700+ retail locations and 40+ distribution centers/warehouses•Review vendor contracts; track, allocate, and reconcile vendor rebates and marketing funds•Setup & maintain landed cost rules in JDE for automated rebate accruals•Prepare various financial reports for Executive Management, Field Operations and internal and external auditorsSpecial Projects: SAP system conversion; materials management team
