I began learning herbal medicine at 16 years old. Self taught for many years, I formally enrolled at the California School of Herbal Studies (2000) and the Southwest School of Botanical Medicine in Arizona (2002). In 2006, I earned a BSc in Wellness and Alternative Medicine from Northern Vermont University.My most influential teachers have been Michael Moore, James Snow, 7Song, James Green, DeAnna Batdorff, Jeanine Parvati Baker, and Dr. Susan GreenIn 2008, I spent a year in South East Asia exploring my love of tea; studying tea ceremony, visiting tea houses, and touring tea gardens. I discovered Tea Mind which is now the heart of my philosophy with Water Over Leaves.In 2009, I opened my first business; an apothecary juice bar and retail health food store (La Forêt Aliments Naturels) in Wakefield, Quebec. I successfully sold my business two years later when my growing family moved to BC; the store is still in operation today.In 2011, I founded Herb Geek, an influential blog and online resource for herbal medicine. After two years of intensive writing, editing, and interviewing prominent herbalists, I sold the site to a developer. The website is no longer in operation.I founded Water Over Leaves in 2022. That same year, our family moved to the North Shore of Nelson, BC, where I now spend my time designing tea blends, growing medicinal plants, and cultivating quiet moments of reflection through tea ritual.

Rare and exquisite high elevation spring teas are especially celebrated.Water Over Leaves is located on an acre of land on the North Shore of Nelson, BC. My medicinal micro-gardens will begin cultivation this year to eventually provide you with a true garden to teacup experience.
