Melanie Venable, MD, is board certified in general adult and forensic psychiatry, with nearly 15 years of clinical practice across multiple care settings. She has provided supervision to fellows through Northwestern’s McGaw Center for Medical Education, and currently sits on the question writing committee for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Her exposure to a wide range of patient populations and disorders has led Dr. Venable to appreciate the diversity of human experience, and to work with patients to develop an individualized treatment plan based on their unique perspectives and goals. Dr. Venable’s forensic background inspires a systems-based approach, which may include collaboration with health care providers or family members. She seeks a therapeutic partnership, in which patients are empowered to develop self-efficacy for their overall well-being.
