Co-owner of Barn & Field: Private Chef, Nutrition & Wellness, B&F Kitchen and Bakery at Swanson’s Nursery (2016-2021), B&F Events & Catering; a small local business for 10+ years-> www.chefcaseybarnes.com. Achieved partnership via grant with UW Medicine Gastroenterology department, developing a quarterly cooking program for physicians to support patients needing specialty diets. Here, I created all physician education materials for the program including packets and step-by-step instructions. Oversee marketing and website design (part-time). In recent years with B&F Kitchen and Bakery I managed recruitment for cafe staff along with employee relations, people & culture programs, customer relations, vendor relations and payroll. Navigated small business ownership during the pandemic and negotiated partnership with DIVA Espresso to supply product to 7 locations. After reorganizing, adapting and innovation we sold the cafe in 2021 to direct our focus to nutritious chef services.

Project based cross-functional role partnering with department leaders within FPPS-Academic Healthcare- to create cohesive, clear communication instructions, infographics, presentations and timelines for time sensitive projects such as Destination ONE. In this role, I co-created Manager's HUB on SharePoint to streamline management LMS, LSSGB training, orientation and other resources. In Partnership with Executive Director, we developed internal monthly newsletter named "THE HUB" via Publisher and Canva to provide a variety of resources to staff and highlight projects, internal committees, promotional opportunities and further connect the administrative team to the UW Medicine systems and overall UW community. Here, I was a key member of content team for monthly MRT (Management Round Table) meeting addressing business operations, coronavirus updates, operational changes, DEI topics and hosting management break out groups for training purposes.

Promoted to position as a response to merging Northwest Hospital & UW Physicians into the larger UW Medicine System. This HRBP position was eliminated during the merger, as all HR functions moved to shared services at UW Medicine. Here, I was a key member of UW Physicians Employment Transition (UWPET) team in partnership with Point B Consulting and the UW Medicine Project Management team to ensure a smooth transition for staff pre and post-merger effective January 1, 2020. Engaged in workforce planning project to determine "Current State and Impact Analysis" for current and future changes for all UWP administrative staff, in order to provide transparency and reduce turnover during a time of change. Here, I developed UWP staff communications through timelines, presentations, infographics, and management trainings to ensure changes, deadlines and updates were transferred to UW Physicians administration in a timely and effective manner. Continued HR Management responsibilities by leading the FMLA program, training program, talent management department, and overseeing the New Employee Orientation (NEO) program for all newly hired employees.
