Booker was SaaS product intended as an online appointment booking service. For example: a piano teacher's students could manage their lessons; a massage therapist could receive bookings while with a client; an evening ski instructor could line up clients while at the office or on campus. It was a simple, quick, easy tool for small service businesses to allow clients to book their own appointments. It was inspired by the Apple Genius Bar appointment booking software of the day...but for everyone. Long term the goal was to also become a business discovery platform. Looking for personal trainer? We had developed an algorithm to deal with the fact that within this space lies an algorithmically unsolvable problem (NP-complete math problem). Working with the Momentum incubator we received seed capital and coaching. The incubator culminated with an investor pitch night, however no startup in the history of the incubator got capital from pitch night. We suspect we would have done better pursing direct commercial traction but alas, in the end, there was no path forward without either revenue or funding. Extremely valuable experience, some of the best of my career.

As a part of an incredible software creation team I am an Exploratory Tester. As such I manually test software from a user perspective, exploring features, and looking for issues using my previous experience as a developer. I've dabbled in User Research (interviewing, process/need analysis), Usability Testing (paper prototypes or live systems), and other parts of design research & discovery that give us definitive answers on what to build and how to build it so that the user likes it and trusts it.

Very small operation - just 2 employees. I was responsible for the whole of simple website creation. Once a sale was made I composed the graphic design then built/coded the site and communicated directly with the customer. An excellent first experience in web software fresh out of college.
