I've made a career out of being hooked into the zeitgeist, and I'm passionate about finding out what's new, and investigating what these trends reveal about us without resorting to buzzwords, intellectual snobbery or generationalism.My key research interests are fashion (particularly the everyday experience of wearing clothes), film and television, books and ideas, advertising and branding, media (particularly online media trends), and the wonderful, underrated banalities of everyday life. I trained as an advertising copywriter and then as a cultural studies academic, but have spent my working life as a journalist and editor. I'm particularly enthusiastic about independent creative projects.
