In my new role with TRIANGLE Canada, I spent six months transforming a grant application and the minutes from two planning meetings into a fully-functional and innovative training program for graduate, postdoctoral, and early career researchers in gastroenterology and hepatology across Canada. TRIANGLE welcomed its first cohort of researchers in January 2023, each of whom gets personalized support via salary and travel awards, mentorship, wellness training, community-building, patient engagement, skill development training, work-integrated learning placements, and much more. The current TRIANGLE community of 50 awardees, faculty, mentors, and patient partners gathered for our first in-person summit at CDDW-CLM 2023 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Design, support, and administer professional and career development programming for undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral researchers in the Research Institute at the Hospital for Sick Children. Manage all pre-award processes for internal and external trainee research funding competitions. Liaise between the Research Training Centre and all professional development partners across the SickKids and University of Toronto communities, and represent the Research Training Centre at the local, provincial, and national levels.

I perform quantitative and qualitative analysis and reporting of archival and other data in the fields of Canadian literature, higher education studies, and Trainee career and professional development. My research has appeared in English Studies in Canada, Digital Studies, and in the MediaCommons #Alt-Academy publication Graduate Training in the 21st Century, which I edit with Daniel Powell.

As Research Officer in the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies at York University, I oversaw and coordinated multiple aspects of the graduate research experience: research funding, ethics review, professional skills development, and the cultivation of a dynamic graduate research culture that celebrates graduate students as the largest group of active researchers on campus. I was responsible for guiding students, faculty and staff through the grant and fellowship application process, assessing and refining research funding processes, effectively communicating and promoting funding opportunities, reviewing and developing grant applications, coordinating and overseeing Faculty-level adjudications, providing training on scholarship applications and processes, and liaising with government and other external funding agencies. In my mandate to cultivate the graduate research culture at York University, I launched and coordinated York's new Graduate Professional Skills (GPS) program, supervised the graduate professional skills graduate assistant, ran research competitions like the Three Minute Thesis and the Blueprint 2020 essay prize, worked to ensure that graduate research had a significant presence at pan-university events. I also reviewed and made recommendations regarding all graduate research involving human participants (for compliance with the Tri-Council Policy Statement on the Ethical Conduct of Research) and intellectual property agreements (to ensure that any such agreements were always in the student's best interest).

Performed quantitative and qualitative research and analysis to assess and inform graduate and postdoctoral professional development best-practices in Canada and to lay the groundwork for the creation of York University's Graduate Professional Skills (GPS) program, which I launched in Fall 2014.

As an EMiC graduate fellow, I have worked as an editorial and research assistant on three Canadian literature publications, including The God of Gods by Carroll Aikins, edited by Kailin Wright (Ottawa UP), The Collected Poems of Miriam Waddington by Miriam Waddington, edited by Ruth Panofsky (Ottawa UP), and The Mountain and the Valley by Ernest Buckler, edited by Marta Dvorak (Tecumseh). In this role, I perform archival and general research, substantive and line editing, and proposal development.
