As a member of the SHG Executive Team my role is to lead and develop strategy and to achieve the organisations 'social heart - business mind' vision and objectives. Specific responsibility for support and wellbeing services and teams including growth of our wellbeing offer. Responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of the joint Better Care Fund Plan between the City Council and NHS Stoke on Trent CCG. Also, lead responsibility for closer integration with health partners building on joint and collaborative commissioning responsibilities. Responsibilities also include strategic lead for Care Act preparation and implementation to fulfil statutory duties and functions efficiently and effectively.

Responsible for a number of commissioning areas; these included adult social care contract and commissioning teams, service development team, safe city team with close links to police and crime commissioners, joint commissioning, brokerage and supporting people. This required a broad knowledge base from procurement rules and regulations through to understanding and experience in safeguarding matters. It also involved wide engagement with a range of stakeholders and both understanding and experience of adult social care. During this time I led on the transfer of responsibility from the CCG to the LA on deprivation of liberty safeguards and also in supporting the establishment of the health and wellbeing board under the health and social care act 2012. Led in the production of the health and wellbeing strategy and the better care fund.

Responsible for a number of undergraduate students at level 1 (each year between 8-14 students). I teach a social work theory module which includes a short 20 day practice requirement in order to achieve verification to practice at level 2. My main duty is to support students to apply knowledge (including social work theory), skills, values and an understanding of the social work process to practice. I teach face to face in workshops, conduct on line discussions / forums and mark assignments.

Led a team of joint commissioners to jointly agree strategic plans and priorities with the CCG (PCT pre 2012). Had lead responsibility for the development and implementation of joint strategies across a range of areas from falls prevention to long term conditions and end of life. Successfully secured approval to tender and implement an independent social work practice pilot in support of people with long term neurological conditions.

Managed a team of social workers and social care assessors with assessment and case management responsibilities toward people with physical disability and sensory needs (adults). This also included close liaison with learning disability team and the hospital social work team. Ensured practice in keeping with professional standards, team and corporate aims and objectives. Managed incoming work, referrals, safeguarding. performance, staff and student supervision. support and development.
