Customer service is the name of my game—I’ve been working in customer service in one capacity or another for nearly 20 years, and I love everything about it. My career advice to anyone? Start every day with a plan. Every morning, I set out a list of everything that needs to be done and I work hard to complete every task before I leave. On more than one occasion, my supervisors have jokingly said, “Leave now, and that’s an order!” but I’m the kind of person who simply doesn’t like to leave until the job is done. At one point in my career, I went back to school to earn my Health Information Technology degree, thinking I would work in that field. As fate would have it, once I had the degree, I decided to choose another path altogether. This experience and my career, in general, taught me to always go with my gut and never to settle.
