The presented solution faced several organizational, vision, and process challenges. Resolving these issues required team building and management, developing a custom ETL process, establishing a homegrown contract testing policy for services, and creating a CLI for DevOps automation. Due to the nature of the solution, all of these elements were closely interconnected. Nuro's technology-agnostic approach provided the flexibility to leverage various programming languages such as Ruby, Python, C#, GoLang, and NodeJS. The services were designed to use RabitMQ as a broker, handling persistence with PostgreSQL. Other technologies, such as Redis, React, and ElasticSearch, were also utilized to enhance performance. Nuro was fully invested in AWS, which facilitated the engineering and architecture of the solution, relying on a solid foundation. This also provided the opportunity to implement relatively new AWS services (Glue, SSM) as part of the stack, bringing the solution to the newest and most reliable state of technology. The architectural design of the solution allowed Nuro to change and quickly modify the direction of workflows and processes. This made it simple for the business to suggest and evaluate new approaches to cross-departmental integration.
