As a Program Director at the Endowment for Health, I manage a portfolio of grants, projects and policy initiatives to advance health equity in New Hampshire. I also staff the Endowment for Health's Advisory Council and planned the first ever Symposium on Race & Equity in NH, held on October 16, 2017 in Concord, NH. Since that time, the Race & Equity in NH Series has engaged more than 500 volunteer workgroup members in NH seeking to address issues related to race and equity in six sectors (Civic Engagement, Economic Development, Education, Government, Health, Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice). A second Symposium on Race & Equity in NH was held on April 29, 2019 with more than 400 registrants. I continue to lead the Race & Equity in NH Series, along with supporting other Endowment for Health funded programs and initiatives to address health and racial equity in NH .

Responsible for the creation, planning, implementation, marketing and development of Center programs, services and initiatives in collaboration with Center team and DHMC Marketing Department. Activities included more than 45 free classes and events each semester (fall; winter/spring) focusing on wellness workshops and lectures, Alzheimer's disease and dementia support and consultations, spiritual and general health support groups and services.

Organized, managed and wrote applications for fundraising efforts through annual NH and VT town funding process (86+ Towns, $630,000+) and local, state, federal and foundation grants. Responsible for special projects and programs in the Development and Communications Department. Assisted in the production of print and digital communications and database management. Coordinated and collaborated with volunteer, donor and community advisory groups.

Messages for Motivation and Support for Behavior Change in Parent Smoking Study: Pilot tested an intervention kit of prevention messages about second hand smoke primarily in low-income NH and VT rural communities. Enrolled and followed up with 364 participants at 5 pediatric and family practice sites in NH and VT. A Resource Center for area families and individuals supported by the Mt. Ascutney Hospital Community Health Foundation. Financial development duties included successful fundraising, negotiating existing and new tenant contracts and obtaining multi-town funding. Programmatic activities involved establishing new programs, forums, and seminars, coordination of nonprofit collaborations, development of a volunteer cadre and enhancing the physical site with a computer center and lending library.

Collaborated with Harlem and Northern Manhattan religious organizations and health care providers to enhance public health information and services for area residents. Obtained New York State funding for Senior Citizen exercise and nutritional programs. Developed and edited Alliance newsletter.

Developed, as part of a consultant team, a national Request for Proposals to enhance existing and create new primary care services nationwide in rural and urban communities lacking adequate access to care. Reviewed proposals and selected grant awardees.

Analyzed primary care needs, barriers, resources and expansion capacity in five NYC target communities: the South Bronx, Harlem, Bushwick (Brooklyn), Jamaica and Far Rockaway(Queens). Identified and implemented short and long-term primary care improvement strategies. Supported the development of a primary care clinic model, health personnel recruitment, retention, and training in collaboration with local health providers, community development corporations, and residents. Wrote practical guide on how to develop community health outreach worker (CHOW) programs, used by community organizations and health providers to develop and train low-income residents as CHOWs. Thesis advisor to four NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service Masters students.

Assisted with the financial control and reporting for an American/Congolese USAID project to establish a graduate school of public health at the University of Kinshasa. Provided support to nationally selected physician-students. Recruited and managed administrative staff. Coordinated activities for and corresponded in French and English with an international cadre of visiting faculty and global health experts. Managed public relations with university and government officials.

Collaborated with physicians and staff, based at a local hospital, in a regional rural health zone in the mountainous region of North Kivu. Prepared and implemented a community public health survey. Taught two 6-month health worker training sessions. Assisted in the establishment of village health committees and village health centers. Supervised village health centers' activities and reviewed financial records. Obtained funding for village maternity. Established 100 book village library and taught beginning and intermediate English classes.
