I am pursuing a joint J.D./LL.M. in International and Comparative Law. Thus far, in addition to the core first year curriculum, I have been able to complete upper-level coursework in international law, comparative law, research methods of international law, and an intensive seminar on drafting international pleadings.Additionally, I studied international law topics and European Union law at the University of Geneva in Geneva, Switzerland (2014) and at the University of Copenhagen in Copenhagen, Denmark (Fall 2015). HKIAC is Asia's leading international dispute resolution service provider. It handles the administration of the arbitration, mediations, adjudications, and domain name disputes referred to it. My responsibilities and accomplishments include: * Gained exposure to arbitration and mediation matters at a leading venue for alternative dispute resolution in Asia.* Researched current arbitration trends in Asia and prepared presentations for HKIAC’s Mock Arbitration Roadshow, an In-house Counsel Summit, and a PLI “Arbitration in Hong Kong” seminar.* Reviewed and briefed arbitral awards

*Conducted research for scholarly articles focused on domestic courts’ enforcement of arbitral awards that applied non-state law, primarily religious law, as the governing substantive law of the contract. The jurisdictions of interest include the legal systems of Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The World Food Programme is a branch of the United Nations and the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger. WFP pursues a vision of the world in which every man, woman and child has access at all times to the food needed for an active and healthy life. On average, WFP reaches more than 90 million people with food assistance in 80 countries each year. I worked in the WFP Dodoma office in central Tanzania. My primary responsibilities were as follows:* Monitored the distribution of food aid at participating primary schools, health clinics, and village project cites throughout the country to ensure their compliance with the WFP project requirements.* Reported the discrepancies found and proposed individualized solutions. * Assisted with locating potential schools and villages that met the necessary prerequisites to benefit from WFP secondary projects, such as water tank construction or road improvements.

Peace Corps is an agency of the U.S. federal government devoted to world peace and friendship. Today, Peace Corps has sent over 200,000 volunteers to serve in 139 countries to work in emerging and essential fields that range from education and health to information technology and business development. For two years, I served as an education volunteer in Kiteto, Tanzania. My primary responsibilities included the following: * Taught secondary level chemistry and biology courses to 350 students.* Developed lesson plans and liaised with local teachers and U.S. Peace Corps supervisors.* Applied for and received grant to conduct HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness program in a small village, arranging for free HIV testing for local population.* Arranged funding, organized and led a four-day Girls’ Leadership Conference for 35 girls from secondary schools to teach important life skills, including family planning and goal setting.* Facilitated multiple gender equality and health workshops for both teachers and students.* Designed and painted educational wall murals, a world map and a Tanzania map.
