As a member of the Sunwest Communications team, I provide strategic counsel for leaders of iconic and new consumer brands. I have strong global perspective and extensive experience creating and managing communications, marketing and brand visibility strategies. My career includes a decade in global communications and brand marketing at Mary Kay Inc. I've helped companies go global, launched multi-country brand communications initiatives and built communications departments from scratch – twice.I've worked in industries and sectors including technology, construction, trade associations, and philanthropy. I was marketing director for Women Texas Film Festival and director of communications and marketing at The Dallas Foundation. Prior to joining Sunwest, I owned End2End Branding.I interned at Cairo Today magazine in Egypt while earning a master’s degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Growing A New Brand Into A Powerhouse Through Community Partnerships And MessagingWomen Texas Film Festival Jul 2018 - Dec 2019Dallas, Texas, UsMarketing Director I created year-round messaging to build and broaden visibility and established community partnerships to increase audiences for the annual Women Texas Film Festival in Dallas, a positive force for women filmmakers with a growing presence on the U.S. film circuit. I worked with the founder to develop consistent messaging and consistent communications to build year-round awareness for the festival's expanding programming and events including participation in the Dallas Best of Fests Film Festival. For the fourth annual festival in 2019, I led the launch of integrated visual branding across all channels. The 2019 fest doubled in size, filmmakers present, sponsors and community partnerships. What a year.The Magic of Community Partnerships: I developed and activated community partnerships with Dallas nonprofits and member associations to partner on promotion of specific films and documentaries screened by Women Texas Film Festival. What are community partnerships? Alliances that benefit all partners and connect them to new audiences. For example:☀️ The Canadian Consulate in Dallas was a perfect partner for "A Perfect 14," a documentary produced by Canadian filmmakers that screened at the 2019 festival. This experience was a revelation to the filmmakers who were on their first U.S. film festival circuit: they could pursue partnerships with Canadian consulates in other festival cities. It was a win for both parties. Also, fun! ☀️ We partnered with three Alzheimer's-focused nonprofits to promote "The Rest I Make Up," about a playwright with the disease. They promoted the film to their members, we provided complimentary tickets for them to share with board members and offer as promotional giveaways."One member of the audience walked up to the filmmaker and said 'I have just been diagnosed and this film helps me be less afraid.'
