I am the president and founder of Weighty Decision, a patient advocacy organization. Weighty Decision works with the healthcare and pharma industries to improve the research and development process of treatments for obesity and eating disorders through the understanding of the patient experience. I am a board member of the Obesity Action Coalition and a founding member and chair of the Mass Coalition for Action on Obesity. I also do advocacy work on equal access to obesity care and anti-weight bias/discrimination legislation.As an entrepreneur I ran a graduate-level education program within the USC School of Medicine, was the CEO and co-founder of a medical device company, and owned a French restaurant. I am a strong supporter of entrepreneurs/entrepreneurship and am a mentor for the MIT Venture Mentoring Service, MIT Sandbox, and Innovate @Boston University.I am a frequent speaker on the topics of obesity with eating disorders/disordered eating as well as patient advocacy.
