As a performer and writer, I thrive on creating and sharing stories. I enjoy giving voice to my experiences through my own work as well as bringing to life the words and lives of others.PERFORMERMy one-woman show, “From Paris with Anxiety”, premiered at Riverside Studios in February 2024 as part of their well-known Bitesize Festival. A humourous show featuring song (and a bit of kvetching), audience response was overwhelmingly enthusiastic, with seats being added for the last performance. My previous one-woman show, “Jew! (A Musical)”, debuted at the Vancouver Fringe Festival and the following year made its UK premiere in London at Lost Theatre’s One Act Festival. Once established in Paris, I debuted my three-person play "All That Matters (A Modern Mini-Musical about Motherhood)" for Montmartre Dionysia.Other roles include Lady (formerly Lord) Capulet in Cygnet Theatre's nearly-all-female production of "Romeo and Juliet", and one of the harrowed-but-hilarious mothers in Koël Purie Rinchet's original work, "Mummy's Dead, Long Live Mummy!"I have appeared as a comic at The Comedy MIX in Vancouver and was a guest comedienne with celebrated comedy troupe 30 Helens. In Paris I've performed standup at Girls Gone Funny, French Fried Comedy Night, and Melting Pot Comedy Night. I love to combine entertaining and hosting events, especially cabaret shows. I worked as co-producer, featured performer, and MC in Burlesque Moulin’s burlesque brunch series, Croissants & Corsets, and incorporated comedy and burlesque as MC for the very successful Cabaret et Vin, produced by Holly Bordeaux Productions. WRITERMy work has appeared in a variety of books and online magazines. Selected publications include The Sunlight Press, Le Phare Collectif’s Connexions Anthology, and Syncopation Literary Journal.I contributed pieces to Sara Bynoe's cult favourite Teen Angst Poetry collection (St. Martin's Griffin), and my essay "Papa Noel Meets the Recalcitrant Jew" featured in the book Mom for the Holidays. For three years, my popular Meshugeneh Mama column was a highlight of Message magazine, published quarterly for parents in the Paris region. I've also contributed essays ("The Cranky Parent: Maman, Bébé and Unsolicited Advice"; "Love and Latkes") for the well-known online magazine France Revisited. My essay "Nothing to Fear but Shut Up" received an Honorable Mention in Women On Writing's Creative Nonfiction essay contest, and my flash fiction piece "Something Big" was long listed for the Bath Flash Fiction Award and is published in the 2022 anthology Dandelion Years.
