Bilingual Instructional Coach

My role as a bilingual instructional coach was to provide bilingual teachers coaching cycles that may pertain to classroom management, literacy, content knowledge, direct instruction, and assessment. Coaching cycles are a gradual release model of professional learning that is collaborative and supportive in nature. Teachers work with instructional coaches to identify an area of professional development in which they wanted to expand their understanding. The coach and teacher work together in exploring and implementing that best practice strategy. I was a resource for bilingual teachers by providing support to them in their role and providing ongoing, on the job professional learning. Part of my position with the district was also to write curriculum, work with district office personnel to update bilingual programming, and work with consultants to provide professional development to staff.
