The work involves facilitating discussion between different regional, national, governmental and other stakeholders for achieving common goals on preparedness and disaster management. In addition tasks include liaising with social and rescue services, maritime and aviation multi modal disasters managements services, coordinating emergency support services of the Voluntary Rescue Services (a network of 52 NGO), developing policies and procedures in response for government legislation, preparing and conducting preparedness and safety exercises, producing and implementing development plans and reports

The European External Action Service (EEAS), CSDP civilian missionThe operation supports Mali's internal security authorities in accordance with EU policy to stabilize the country. My position was in the mission's planning, evaluation and reporting unit, where my main task was to gather and transmit information to the mission's management and experts and to the EU's external relations administration. My tasks also included supporting planning and evaluation, and when necessary, acting as a substitute for the head of the unit, responsible for the day-to-day management of the unit's operations.

Seafaring, Logistics & Environmental protection. Leading a comprehensive oil spill combat management project for coastal regional rescue services, other environmental authorities and stakeholders (Gulf of Finland).The job started by arranging funds for the 5-year project. Leading the EU-project “SÖKÖ II” and producing with project the team, local authorities, ministries and other stakeholders a multidisciplinary and detailed contingency plan and a set of preparedness guidebooks for Finnish hazardous waste (oil spill) authorities in the Gulf of Finland. Marine Environment Research, designing molecular labeling technique for flowcytometry and cyanobacteria.After graduation I was admitted as a postgraduate visiting researcher in the research center of excellence at University of Santa Cruz. I performed independent research aiming for a PhD on marine environmental microbiology. This occupation extended my skills in analytical capability and knowledge in information collection and analytical methods.
