A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step. Since I was little, I always enjoyed to be on stage, singing, dancing, or acting. Felt more myself and confident on stage than in social life for some reason for many many years. This made me taking part in school choir, followed by the school band, then taking part in the dance team followed by cheerleading in basketball matches and then artistic swimming.. and so on.Wow ! I couldn't stop, right ! 😊I was over the moon for my each performance and loved all the butterflies in my stomach.To be an awarded artist wasn't just talent and few hours of practice like most people think. It took my 12 years of tears and sweat and not giving up everytime I come to that point.Where I come from, art wasn't called a "job", or futurepromising "work", so was even hard to talk my dreams.I could only admit it to myself and my mom, that I wanted to be an artist rather than an engineer right after my university graduation as an "engineer" already.Not everyone was happy, but I was.My baby steps were singing lessons, writing lyrics to my little book to maybe one day put them altogether to hopefully make my own song. Then found myself an affordable small studio to record my voice in Istanbul. I didn't know anybody in the business, didn't have a coach, or a manager or anyone professional to guide me. After 2 years, people started noticing me, liked my voice and I started gigging in Istanbul and Cyprus. Then there was the courageous me in the semifinals in "Turkey's Got Talent". Then in the "Eurovision National Finals" of Switzerland. Then in many festivals around the world as a dance performer, and Singer. And me on TV, singing, interviewing and modelling. The road was leading me somewhere, but it all was happening very slow.I knew that I wanted to sing in English to embrace the whole world rather than one culture only, as a Turkish native speaker.So I have come to the UK 4 years ago with my dreams in my suitcase. Improved my English. Built my own home studio, started writing and recording my songs at home in the lockdown and took all the risks and traveled to a red list country in the highest covid times to shoot my music video, just because I set my heart on it. Well, it did worth it. I won a beautiful award for that song.I am still going on with my heart, working on my next project, being inspired by this beautiful tough life and trying to inspire the others.I just tell these to myself in every crossroad I come to: "Choose to be the woman you want your future kid would be proud of and be inspired."
