Dr. Melise D. Huggins is a seasoned International Development Economist who has applied her skills and talents to a multiplicity of areas, regions, industries, sectors, and socio-economic designations. Her multidisciplinary doctorate was completed at Michigan State University with a STEM, Equine Veterinary Science, and Agricultural Economics background. Previously she served as a Math and English Camp Counselor to children. She has created curricula for Boys and Girls Clubs, Boston College, and for Marketing professionals in the Caribbean. Dr. Huggins’ career began in Zimbabwe, as a Program Manager to a group of NGOs covering areas of income generation, women’s development, environmental sustainability, land contestation, and food security at the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC). Her international career has since extended to other points of Africa, West, East and North to Tunisia where she was a UN Gender Meeting Representative. More recently she worked in Mexico and Trinidad, where her development work pivoted into government advisory, in Agriculture, Planning, and Youth Ministries. She is adept at Marketing campaigns and Coaching the Entrepreneurial Sector. She is the author of the National Women’s Entrepreneurial Program written for the Ministry of Labour. Her talents extend to graphics and communications: She designed, completed the layout, and logo and edited content for MIC’s Prime Minister’s Tobago Launch. An Artist, Author, Photographer, and Entrepreneur, Dr. Huggins’ creativity focused her abilities on Tech Solutions Innovations, the founder of a series of concepts, and products. She has been an Organic Farmer on twelve acres of land in a Sustainable OffGrid Living EcoTourism site. Her work in Sustainable, Natural and Green Industry Living and Tech continues.
