Over the course of 10-weeks, the practicum position included work experience in online reputation management, online marketing, and human resources (talent & culture).

As VP of Events, I contact industry professionals to set up bi-weekly FAM tours for our current members to attend. When organizing other events, I set dates, contact and secure speakers, secure venues, and report financial needs to the President for funding.

R.I.S.E, Relationship, Innovation, Success, Empowerment, is a student led program that I have volunteered to take on in its third year of operation. It is designed to educate youth in areas the education system is lacking. Throughout the program, mentors and youths are paired together while engaging in weekly workshops that focus on Finance Literacy, Business Communication, and Basic Coding. Through personal experience, many of us have gone through the transition from high school to university and R.I.S.E aims to educate the youths on these changes to better prepare them.

My event experience stems from my involvement in BCITMA’s Events committee. The Events committee is responsible for planning and organizing a variety of events, the largest being BCITMA’s Annual Fashion Show. This past year I worked closely with the director recruiting models as well as being the fundraiser’s raffle promoter. Through this experience it was very important for me to stay organized while I relayed instructions to the volunteers given by the director. I believe with these skills, it helped contribute to the success of raising more than $1300 that night.

"Enactus Canada is shaping generations of entrepreneurial leaders passionate about advancing the economic, social and environmental health of Canada." - EnactusAfter recently joining Enactus BCIT, it has lead me to the opportunity to volunteer in BCIT's Lions Lair. Lions Lair workshops are where selected student mentors assist local entrepreneurs into carefully executing their business plans so the entrepreneurs can compete in the annual Lions Lair's competition. Mentors & Entrepreneurs schedule various weekly meetings over the course of 8 weeks until the competition commences. With the assistance from another mentor, my entrepreneur won first place in his category which resulted in a $1000 cash prize.
