Melissa grew up playing sports and currently enjoys all aspects of fitness ranging from Crossfit to Yoga.She started her yoga journey in January of 2015 with a lunchtime yoga class offered at her workplace to aid in stretching and mobility for Crossfit and weight lifting. She was initially unaware, but came to realize the great benefits that Yoga offered not only physically, but also mentally especially during the workday. After taking her first Hot yoga class at Yoga Core and More in January 2016, she was hooked. It was a great balance for her in her fitness and yoga journey as well as all other aspects of her life. Melissa quickly realized she wanted more from her yoga classes and completed her 200-hour Yoga teacher training at Yoga Core and More in O’Fallon, Illinois in January 2018. Melissa appreciates the many different variations of yoga, but her favorite has to be vinyasa flow classes. The most important part of teaching yoga for her is to challenge her students and encourage strengthening of the body, mind, and spirit through their practice while still having fun. She is excited to continue sharing the amazing benefits of yoga with all of her students and ensuring that yoga is accessible for everybody and anyone that is willing to give it a shot.
