I am an Intermediate/ Senior Drama and English Teacher, currently working as a supply and LTO teacher in the Halton and Dufferin- Peel Catholic District School Boards. I have extensive experience working in grade 7-12 classrooms. I have developed the skills necessary to help students adapt to the unprecedented times we have faced these past few years. My creativity allows me to create, adjust, and implement educational and engaging curriculum expectations that address students’ needs, skills, and interests. I am a caring, professional, and hardworking individual who successfully collaborates with other staff members and parents. Working within multiple high schools, I have learned the importance of trust between all aspects of the education system. I have learned the value of relationships between teachers and students to help them succeed and feel confident within the classroom. Additionally, I have learned the importance of allowing students to take autonomy within their education to grow and develop into responsible, independent citizens. I began my journey into teaching by getting an Honors Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Drama from York University. I continued my education by attending Brock University to earn a Bachelor of Education Intermediate /Senior division. I volunteered with my former high school in English and Drama classes of varying grades and academic levels throughout my undergraduate degree. This experience helped me obtain vast knowledge on IEPs, lesson planning, assessment, marking, and other critical administrative tasks teachers do daily. Once at Brock for the Consecutive teaching program, I completed three placements in grades: Grade 10 Drama, Grade 9 English, Grades 10, 11 and 12 English. These placements have shaped me into the Teacher I am, allowing me to learn valuable lessons on students relationship, classroom management, collaboration, technology tools and differentiated instructions. These are all valuable lessons that I will be able to take within my teaching career.My goals are to keep growing both in my career and in my interest. As a teacher, I want to continually work on my credentials and take AQs and ABQs to update my resume, always learning and updating my resources and lesson plans. Additionally, in my interests, I would love to continue to bake and cook and give myself more opportunities to enhance my skills in both aspects. I would also like to help let my creativity flow and grow through fun outlets. I aspire always to learn and grow as an individual, Teacher and within my community.
