I've spent most of my adult life working in a bookstore because I love being surrounded by the written word. Sadly, as voracious of a reader as I am, I never considered myself a creative person. So writing wasn't something I ever really considered, even though I always received stellar marks on essays from my teachers. But I also knew I didn't want to work in retail my whole life. I started taking the CopyHackers course, wrote some web copy and a couple of random blog posts for a carpet cleaning business (don't ask), and found my passion. I quickly realized there are thousands of opportunities for writers that don't require you to be the next Margaret Atwood or Stephen King. For the past two years, I've written and/or edited dozens of blog posts, more web copy than I can remember, and tons of emails. I also edited and wrote a large chunk of my partner's recently published book, Selling from Scratch, available on Amazon.
