My role at the clinic includes Intake, Assessment and Treatment of Severe Mental Illness. I use evidence-based therapies for treatment of specific diagnoses. Typically, I provide individual therapy but have incorporated family-based therapy in my sessions. I work closely with our clinic staff in order to provide wholistic care to clients served. I work to provide suicide prevention in the community as a SafeTALK trainer through Living Works. I also provide suicide intervention work as an ASIST trainer through Living Works.

I complete initial screenings using a psychosocial assessment, which determines the need for additional social services. I provide supportive therapy by making routine social visits monthly or as needed with patients and families enrolled in the Hospice program.

I was involved in the Assessment and Treatment Planning process of provided therapy to children and their families with severe mental illness. I also served adult clients in need of supportive therapy.

I was based out of the main regional clinic in Alexandria as a medical social worker. I made rounds on a frequent basis, assessing patients and families for additional social service needs. I was consulted by nephrologists to educate hospitalized, newly diagnosed, patients and their families on ESRD and Dialysis services.
