Hello there! I am a recent graduate from CCRI's OTA program. I am looking forward to starting my OTA career in this amazing field with 10+ years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities with a private company and the state of RI. I am a dedicated, service focused professional with strong communication skills, problem solving skills and customer service experience. I have proven adaptability in diverse groups and ability to flourish in a high-pressure and fast paced environment.My fieldwork experience includes Sargent Center where I worked with students aged 7-21. During my time there I developed and implemented treatment plans addressing handwriting, sensory regulation, executive functioning skills, vocational skills, social skills and fine and gross motor skills in support of students IEP goals. I also designed and created individualized worksheets using Canva and have become quite skilled with making personalized visuals as needed for students. My fieldwork experience also includes acute inpatient at Westerly Hospital where I worked in the ICU and Med Surge floors. While I was here I planned and implemented treatment for clients with a variety of diagnoses including amputations, COPD, dementia, CVA, general weakness, elective and emergent TKR, THR, humeral fractures, rib fractures, acute and chronic pain and Guillain Barre. I was able to instruct patients in safe transfers, ADL's and performed UE ROM and MMT assessments, PROM stretching and apply tone management techniques.I am looking forward to full time employment as a COTA while furthering my education with Occupational Therapy.
