I love marketing communications because you have the opportunity to blend strategy with data and insight, tie in Brand 'codes' and be true to the organisation. Over that, I like being part of the conversation around organisation development - I'm very interested in what goes on behind the scenes, and I'm a big picture person. And I'm a doer. I like the journey you take in marketing, sussing out what's important or not, and the direction of travel, as well as loving the creative process, thinking digital first, audience- first.My mantra is it's not about me....objectivity is so important, and it can take time to bring decision makers along a journey, but it's worth it....About me...I really enjoy working with people, building relationships and knowing how they are doing, really doing I mean. I think we spend so much time at work, so making it pleasurable for me and the people I work with is important. I also really enjoy working with people from all kinds of backgrounds - I definitely fit into several diversity and inclusion boxes, but that doesn't mean I get it all. Quite the opposite; I'm always learning, from reading or from the horse's mouth - I learn and improve. And I love animals, kids, families, friends, the green and outdoors, swimming and movement, art and dance. I'm a lifelong learner, ambitious for my work and teams, and I am a definite glass half full character.It's lovely when you are rewarded for hard work, innovation and creativity. over the years, I graduated from Prof. Mark Ritson's excellent mini MBAs in Brand Management and Marketing, and am part of a huge alumni network, so, so helpful! I've won awards for marketing excellence, story-telling, CX and digital marketing. I'm always learning new skills, and my next challenges are to knock discipline into strategy and planning in my current role.
