I am pursuing creative writing as both an outlet for my creativity and a career choice. But one has to pay the bills.For my full-time job, I work at the Quincy Public Library as the Catalog & AV Librarian. I add new books to our system and am in charge of purchasing and collection development for our AV collection.For my part-time job, I teach English online for John Wood Community College. I've been doing this for two years now and I love it! My organizational skills really come in handy for online classes and I really enjoy working with freshmen students who are still new to college.I finished my second Masters, in English and Creative Writing, in October 2018. So yes, for a while I was working full-time and part-time and finishing up school. I don't know now where I found all the time! I wrote many original pieces during my time in school plus I had the amazing opportunity to be a teacher's assistant for a freshman class at SNHU. I earned my first Masters in Library and Information Science in May of 2009 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee online. I've been working in libraries for over 15 years now, and have worked in many types of libraries. During my classwork in library science, I took classes in website development and information architecture, as well as classes in genealogy. I also took classes in archives and preservation, cataloging, management, and other various required courses.
