As I help coordinate the integration of expert insights in sustainable buildings and develop data-driven and market-driven Standards, our frameworks can significantly contribute to and respond to Canada's carbon reduction goals.Key responsibilities include:- Advocating for continuous improvement, I integrate feedback to enhance the efficacy and usability of our Standards, aiming to maximize their market responsiveness.- Guiding clients through the certification process and their project-specific inquiries, I help provide tailored advice to foster broad adoption and understanding of the Zero Carbon Building Standards.- Leading data analysis on Zero Carbon Building projects, I collaborate with national experts to ensure our Standards incorporate and respond to the latest market and technological developments.

I was the first line of support to help clients and stakeholders with their green building certifications, including LEED and Zero Carbon Building Standards. I facilitated communication between clients and the reviewers of our green building certifications, providing excellent customer service as well as processing certification submissions through various platforms and tools, ensuring efficient and timely workflow, and accurate, detailed project tracking.Key responsibilities included:- Responding to client inquiries in a professional and timely manner, with thoughtful and accurate technical guidance, including adding in responses from reviewers as necessary and notifying peers of tasks.- Ensuring project submissions are complete, properly recorded in the central database and accurately maintained and recorded as they progress through the review stages.- Striving for continuous improvement within the LEED Program, including suggesting improvements to processes and tools to improve client experience and internal efficiency.

My main responsibility was to provide assistance to Project Managers and Senior Structural Engineers in the design/analysis of new, renovated, and rehabilitated buildings from the conceptual stage through to construction administration.Throughout my internship, I assisted with the following:- Prepared contract language and special provisions, proposals, specifications, cost estimates, life cycle assessment reports, and tender documents;- Performed structural analysis and associated BIM/CAD drawings, including analysis through Finite Element Analysis software such as SAP and WoodWorks;- Prepared preliminary, general arrangement, and detailed design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.

With Pomerleau, my team and I successfully started and finalized a large government remediation project under budget due to real-time material projections that were created by myself and my fellow project coordinator. Key responsibilities included:- Collaborated and kept the lines of communication open when working with team members, trade partners, consultants, and clients.- Effectively reviewed, interpreted, and updated the construction schedules.- Utilized organization skills by performing maintenance, review, and follow-up of shop drawings, RFI’s, material purchase orders, change notice quotes, and project completion documents.- Effectively collected, reviewed, and analyzed project quotes with emphasis on obtaining the very best prices in the market.- Assembled, attended, documented, and emphasized the importance of project meetings.- Celebrated project success and completion and was a key member of the project wrap-up process.

I assisted numerous building science projects and independently drafted reports, including, but not limited to, the following:- Investigation of problems related to existing structural elements and the building envelope components including cladding, roofing and windows.- Preparation of reserve fund studies, building audits, pre-purchase assessments and building condition reports.- Perform on-site field reviews of construction/renovation/rehabilitation projects to assess constructed element conformance, including the preparation of any associated field report.Projects included: cladding investigations, roof condition surveys, waterproofing projects, roof assessments, masonry repair, and rehabilitation projects.
