CurrentCaring for five critically ill patients.Performing a head to toe physical assessment every six hours on each of my patients.Manually Interpreting EKG rhythms.Monitoring patients' vital signs, EKG rhythms and lab values for deviations from normal, promptly notifying the physician when deviations are detected and quickly implementing new orders. Critically thinking about how the lab values, cardiac rhythm, vital signs, and physical presentation contribute to an overall understanding of each patient's condition. Collaborating with physicians and other members of the medical team in order to ensure the provision of safe and effective patient care.Building a trusting therapeutic relationship with each of my patients in order to create a comfortable environment for the patient to communicate his/her emotional and physical needs. Providing hygiene care to each of my patients, including daily baths, mouth care, perineal care, and ensuring a clean and pleasant room environment. Providing education to the patient and family regarding the patient's condition, medications, and plan of care. Taking time to answer the patient's and family's questions. Documenting assessments, vital signs, I's and O's, and nursing progress notes in the electronic medical record.
