My concentration within sociology is criminology though I am also interested in social-psychology and gender. I have extensive research experience both in qualitative and quantitative research methods. I have experience with all aspects of the research process as evident through my completion and defense of my Masters thesis. I analyze the data in my Masters thesis using SAS and Stata. As a research assistant for Laura Hansen, I helped to create the code book, data collection method and collected all of the quantitative data which I compiled in an Excel spread sheet to be used in our research. This research was presented at the American Society of Criminology Conference and was published in a book entitled, Global Perspectives on Youth Gang Behavior (2016). I have demonstrated my ability to present ideas, communicate effectively and my organization skills through my work as an adjunct professor at two community colleges. I am well versed in Word, Excel and Powerpoint. I am a passionate and dedicated individual who would be an asset to any research team.
