This included independently opening and closing the parks, resolving problems both independently and with a team, working collaboratively with others to complete daily and unique tasks in a timely manner, and maintaining strict COVID-19 safety protocols. In this role, I learned the importance that a happy and healthy workplace which runs on constructive criticism and positive attitudes can have on productivity. In addition, I learned that a strong attention to detail makes tasks large and small much easier in both the short- and long-term. Through this position, I am now more confident in my ability to work collaboratively and independently, as well as my ability to think critically and outside the box. Show less

In this role, I have been searching online databases for information on the last words on death row inmates, as well as the reactions to the execution from the victim’s loved ones. I then organize this information to allow for my supervisor to easily code it for her analyses. This work has helped me gain further insight into real-world data collection and analysis, and has made me passionate about research.

As a First Year Peer Academic Coach, I help first year students at Wilfrid Laurier's Brantford campus adjust to university academics. I assist students with time management, study strategies, and academic writing. This is done through individual meetings, hosting programming sessions, and working closely with a team of other academic coaches, full-time staff, and residence staff to find out how to bets support students.
