Performs tactical, strategic, and administrative analysis using complex relational databases, highly secure law enforcement computer applications and other software to conduct statistical, spatial, and temporal analysis, detect and analyze crime series/patterns, forecast crime trends, and identify suspect/crime/victim relationships in order to organize, disseminate, and present findings to the appropriate units for response. Creates reports, presentations, and other documents for a variety of internal and external audiences.

As a part of several project teams, contributed to various activities, including system assessments, data analysis, training, and reports. Past experience includes:•Collaborative Reform Initiative Served as a site lead for Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Spokane Police Department in evaluating the Office of Community Oriented Policing's Collaborative Reform Initiative. Conducted initial site visits and interviewed numerous stakeholders within the police department and community. Conducted a follow-up visit one year later in Las Vegas. Played a large role in developing the evaluation plan, including development of research questions, indicators, and data measures. •Reshaping Restrictive Housing in South DakotaWorked closely with the South Dakota Department of Corrections, and with corrections and nationally-recognized experts in the areas of high security confinement and mental health in a correctional setting. Examined current practices and policies, and assisted with to development and implementation of data-driven, alternative strategies to safely and effectively reduce administrative segregation bed days and reduce the safety risks posed by inmates during and after their time in special housing. •Pretrial Organized multiple focus groups with stakeholders across the nation for the National Institute of Corrections to gather information for a pilot curriculum. Additionally, worked with Californians for Safety and Justice to examine current pretrial practices and assisted with outlining potential legislative reform opportunities. Also, assisted with an in-depth pretrial system evaluation of two counties in South Dakota, including stakeholder interviews, document review, and data analysis to formulate recommendations on safely reducing the incarcerated pretrial population.
