Youth Ministry is the job of all trades. I coordinate Faith Formation classes, small groups, and youth events. I recruit, train, and lead a team of part-time employees and volunteers who mentor youth in the faith. I prepare youth for the sacraments. I educate youth and families on the teachings of the church. I plan curriculum for grades 6-12. I implement safe environment protocol and trainings to ensure the safety of our youth. I communicate to families through weekly newsletters and create advertisements for events. I promote our program by speaking at many different types of events, to many different groups and people. I advocate on behalf of our youth on their importance in our church. I mentor and council teens, parents, and our leaders. I support our youth by attending their events. I visit teens in the hospital. I prayer for our teens. I collaborate with other youth ministry leaders to put on events or establish new programs. I creatively plan and execute new ways to reach teens. I plan a yearly calendar with a variety of different events that reach youth from all walks of life. I strategically plan and prepare for the future of youth ministry at our parish that is keeps up with the changing of times. I lead fundraising efforts to cover our budget and youth trips. I coordinate with local non-profits to provide service and social justice opportunities. I plan and lead prayer services. I plan travel details and lead large group trips both nationally and internationally. I plan retreats, lead games, give talks, and am completely crazy and silly while playing ridiculous games in the middle of the night. I am the leader of of dodgeball tournaments, Nerf wars, skits, pizza parties, and lock-ins.
