My full-time internship at Sylvania Schools includes working at Whiteford Elementary School, Northview High School, and the LEAP Program. My experience included working with students in different populations such as Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Learning Disability, Behavioral Challenge, Emotional Disturbance, and Developmental Delay. I conducted screenings and evaluations using standardized assessments and observational data. I provided treatment in individual, group, and teletherapy settings targeting phonology and articulation, receptive and expressive language, and pragmatic language. I provided access to augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) using GoTalk and Proloquo2Go. I gained experience writing ETRs and IEPs while collaborating with my supervisor. I collaborated with intervention specialists, general education teachers, occupational therapists, school psychologists, and ESL teachers.

I worked a part-time internship at Lima Memorial Hospital in the inpatient rehab and acute care settings. I gained experience treating and evaluating a diverse range of patients in the areas of expressive and receptive language, cognition, voice, and dysphagia. I conducted bedside swallow evaluations in order to recommend appropriate diet modifications, and evaluated and interrupted results using VFSS. I educated patients and families on their cognitive, communication, and swallowing results and goals. I collaborated with nurses, physicians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists to provide optimal patient care.

I aided in tube feeding, teeth brushing, and other personal hygiene needs once a week throughout the school year.
