Mainly working in cardiothoracic cases including robotic lobe resections with the Davinci XI robot. I’m the main cardiac tech, our TaVR program was started last year so I’ve been working in cath lab once a week for those cases. Also have been training in plastic surgery as well as oncology surgeries.

Pick equipment for scheduled surgeries, set up the OR for surgery using aseptic technique & maintaining a sterile field. Gown & glove the surgeon and assistant surgeon, drape the patient, assist the surgeon during surgery, assist the nurses as needed in moving the patient.

Prep & set up operating rooms, maintain a sterile field, gown & glove the surgeon and assist the surgeon during surgeries, assist the RN in positioning the patient.

Surgical areas scrubbed: Orthopedic, Spine and Pain Management with specific skills that include:Sterilization Procedures Aseptic Technique Basic Care Preparation Pre & Post Op Care Surgical Scrub BLS/CPR CertificationMedical Ethics Inflammation/Healing Clinical Instruments; * Monitoring and execution of daily sterization test of the Steris steam sterilizers andsystem 1E. * Aseptically clean and sterilize equipment, as well as assure the quality of theequipment is in prime condition. * Daily monitoring of the temperature and humidity levels in all operating rooms, gaslevels of the nitrous oxide and oxygen, system warmer for blankets and I.V. bags as wellas medicine refrigeratures. * Weekly monitoring of the emergency generator including checking all systems to assurethey are in working order. * Turning over and/or preparing the pre-op and the recovery rooms for patients. * Preparing the operating rooms for the surgeries scheduled including all needed ORequipment and quickly turning the operating rooms over. * Assisting in surgeries either as a scrub tech and/or assisting the circulator nurse.

* Assisted in over 500 surgeries as first scrub position.* Successfully assisted the surgeon in use of the laproscopic equipment and camerasduring surgery.* Maintained highest standard of sterile technique during procedures, including allsupply and equipment checks * Set up sterile field with instruments, supplies, equipment and medical solutions,restocked crash carts and assembled intubation and instrument trays.* Performed appropriate counts with circulator prior to, during and before closure ofprocedure. * Successfully completed a full time 45+ hr day internship while simultaneously holding afull time job without, receiving commendation for performance at both companies.
