With over 17 years of experience in higher education and public health research, I am currently the Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Advancement at the University of North Texas Health Science Center School of Public Health. In this role, I oversee the research portfolio, faculty development, and work with the Dean and other leaders to advance the school's mission and vision. I am also a Professor at the UNT Health Science Center at Fort Worth, where I teach and mentor students and conduct research on topics such alcohol and other substance use. Prior to joining UNT, I was a Professor at the University of Washington for 12 years, where I received multiple awards and grants for my research and teaching excellence. I have a PhD in Health and Social Psychology from North Dakota State University, and have published over 180 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in prestigious journals and outlets. I am passionate about creating and disseminating knowledge that can improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities, and fostering a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative academic environment.
