I am a talented and creative individual who is an interior designer by trade, who owns and operates a custom stationery company and is now obtaining a degree in art education. I have spent the last 20 years of my life cycling through various learning situations within the art world. I have degrees in interior design, political science, a double major in psychology and am obtaining my BA in art with an education minor. I have done extensive graphic design work for a local company as well as obtaining professional experience in Photoshop for both graphic design and photo editing purposes, web design, interior design layout, design trends, color theory, photography, graphite drawing, and the paper arts. I am also skilled in metal smithing, ceramics and printmaking. Due to previous personal events, I bring with me two years of family based professional therapy in dealing with troubled youths suffering from trauma and ACEs. I am acutely aware of their inability to navigate difficult emotions such as frustration and am able to remain calm when that frustration turns to anger and outbursts. I have over two years of experience substituting for an interventional specialist and several other high needs classrooms. It was here that I was able to put into action and practice the tactics that I learned from a professional therapist. My goal is to expand on these previous experiences by becoming a full time art instructor for the K-12 school system. I feel that my past experience with my own creative children combined with past professional experiences lends me to be an energetic and excellent candidate to assist in the education of our students.
