Focusing on capacity building in conjunction with resource development, a three pronged approach was established to address identified gaps; online resource repository, live event/workshop sessions, and customized curriculum. The online repository boasts 30+ resources developed and delivered via SiteBuilder (website development) and BrightSpace (LMS software). Live sessions, hosted via Webex and YouTube, has reached audiences upwards of 100 attendees and are available asynchronously to promote MUN’s value of equitable access internationally. Administration of customized curriculum has been achieved through advocacy of student-centered programming that promotes student metacognition and effective learning skills. Ongoing data analytics, coupled with researching emerging trends, has informed the development of a 12 month programming prospective reflecting the university student academic cycle of need. A cycle which predicts obstacles and proactively addresses hurdles which impact student retention. In response, This position involved management of 3 accredited paramedicine programs verified by EQual™ (previously Canadian Medical Association) and sustainment of ISO 9001:2015 Certified status by maintaining superior documentation and deliverables. While upholding college standards, new processes were launched for recruitment, development, and retention of staff, preceptor, and placement site. In response to this launch, an invitation to join governmental planning committees was extended to provide consultation on revitalizing policies. This consultation resulted in a consolidation of services and an overhaul of placement procedures for the Nova Scotia Health Authority. Reimagining paramedicine via student-centered curriculum redesigns optimized faculty workflow, improved student reassessment practices, and increased student retention. Through this success, opportunities emerged as an interprofessional mentor within the college, panellist for professional development, advisor for allied health programs on prospective program redesigns, and consultant with private industry on emerging health education technology.
