I am a senior writer, editor and content creator at Coretext working across a range of digital and print platforms telling stories about primary production, environmental, health and scientific research. Working for the university sector, Research and Development Corporations (RDCs) and in medical research, I turn complex ideas into engaging narratives, highlighting the impact of the work in the community and bringing to life the people behind it. In 2015 I won the Australian Star Prize for Rural Writing - the country’s top award for rural journalism - for a feature on the scientific and on-farm collaboration that has helped establish canola in Australia.I have extensive experience managing publications. I was editor of and a writer for Monash University's Monash Life alumni magazine, and editor of the Monash Magazine - a premium research publication carried in newspapers in Australia, the United States and United Kingdom. I was also editor of and major contributor to Australia’s Future – a magazine produced for Australian schools highlighting the work of young Australians in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, coordinated by the Australian Science Teachers Association (ASTA) and supported by the Office of the Chief Scientist. I was also editor of Diversity magazine for RIRDC (now Agrifutures Australia).Currently, I create digital and print content for a range of Coretext clients including the Australian Society for Medical Research, the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC), the Fisheries Research Development Corporation (FRDC) and the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research. Clients also include the University of Melbourne's School of Engineering, and the University of Portsmouth in the UK.
