Melissa is a trusted legal advisor to companies and investors across the innovation ecosystem. She is a partner in Gunderson Dettmer's New York office, and a member of the firm's Corporate & Securities practice group. She previously served as General Counsel of Boxee, a streaming media hardware and software company (acquired by Samsung) and leverages that operating experience to deliver practical, commercial guidance to her clients.Melissa has over 15 years of experience leading transactions at all stages of the technology lifecycle. She advises entrepreneurs as they form businesses, counsels growing companies and investors through rounds of private financings, M&A deals, public offerings and other late-stage transactions, and provides day-to-day guidance on corporate governance, employment, and intellectual property matters.Melissa is committed to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion both within Gunderson Dettmer as well as in the broader technology and venture capital community, and is extremely proud that a majority of her clients are led by underrepresented founders or executives. She currently serves on the firm's D&I Committee as well as its Management Committee (Board of Directors).
