Melissa is an experienced digital content creator and K-12 World Languages (Spanish) & Digital Media Teacher with a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and an undergraduate degree in Spanish & Latin-American Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.She currently works in digital content creation, website and project management, and social media marketing for nonprofits. Skilled in educational technology, proficiency-based teaching, & digital storytelling, Melissa spent more than a decade helping students & fellow educators discover their passions & use them to create positive change in the classroom & in the world. She has strong interests in student-centered, project-based, and passion-driven learning as evidenced in the Digital Media curriculum she developed and taught in addition to Spanish at Lake Norman Charter High School. An innovator at heart, Melissa strived to leverage the power of technology to improve learning and engagement for her students.
